March | Awaken. Rise. Move Forward.
There is a moment every year when the light changes.
It's subtle at first - easy to miss if you're not paying attention. The mornings stretch a little longer. The air carries something different. And somewhere underneath the surface, before you've consciously registered any of it, something inside you stirs.
This is not the frenetic energy of January resolutions. That season has passed and honestly, it was never really aligned with nature's rhythm anyway. January is still deep winter. The ground is frozen. The sap hasn't moved yet.
March is different. March is when things actually begin.
"Spring is the time of plans and projects." - Leo Tolstoy
In nature, growth starts in the unseen. Seeds crack open underground long before any green appears. Sap rises through bare branches before a single leaf unfolds. The whole landscape is quietly, powerfully becoming before there is any visible evidence of it.
The same is true for us.
Whatever you've been sitting with through the slower months - the reflection, the rest, the questions you've been turning over quietly - March asks you to let it start moving - in the kind of gentle, steady momentum that actually lasts.
Winter was for going inward. Spring is for allowing what you found there to come forward.
This month, three invitations:
Let your body feel the light again. Step outside in the morning before the day gets hold of you. Feel the sun - even the pale, tentative March version of it - on your face. Move a little more than you have been. Open a window. Breathe deeper. The body responds to light and movement in ways that go far beyond the physical. Cortisol rhythms reset, mood lifts, energy begins to circulate again after months of conservation. These things are the beginning of everything.
Let your mind clear out what feels outdated. Spring cleaning is not just a domestic instinct, it's also a biological one. The mind, like any system, accumulates. Old narratives, expired beliefs, habits that served you in a different season but feel tight now. One small decision can shift everything. You need clarity about what you're ready to put down.
Let your soul remember that hope is not naΓ―ve. It is cyclical. Light always returns. You moved through winter - the darker mornings, the heavier skies, the slower rhythm of it. You sat with yourself. You processed things. And now you get to move forward. Gently. Intentionally. With the particular kind of confidence that only comes from having rested well.
Momentum begins with one full, conscious inhale. One small step taken in the right direction. One morning when you choose the light.
Reflection Prompts
Take a quiet moment with a journal, a walk, or simply stillness. Ask yourself:
What part of me is waking up right now?
Where am I ready to create gentle momentum?
What one small action will move me forward this month?
Small is powerful. Consistency beats intensity. Always.
the hwell takeaway
March is not about reinventing yourself. It's about re-animating what already lives within you.
The seeds are already there. The light is returning. All that's asked of you is to turn toward it and begin.
Welcome the light. Move with intention. Trust the unfolding.
With Love,
